Print Design
Print is one of the oldest and most popular media in which to spread thougths and ideas. From the stories and articles in novels and magazines to the colorful illustrations in advertisements and children's books, colors and words on paper can be found almost anywhere.
Some of the most creative, colorful, and appealing designs can be found in print, so why not use a printed poster, flyer, brochure, card, newsletter, or other material to share your ideas or promote your event?
DoR'h media has extensive experience designing for print and has provided designs for organizations such as the DeWitt Band Boosters, The Lansing Art Gallery, and Williamston Family Chiropractic. We have experience and samples for many different types of printed material, including posters, brochures, newsletters, graduation and wedding packages, book covers, and more.
We're proud of the work we do, and with good reason. In 2005, we recieved an award in design for the Student Art Exhibit (design shown at left), an annual art show in Lansing that showcases the work of graphic and fine art students across the state. As a result of the award, our design was used in statewide advertisements of the event.
The images above demonstrate our ability to work with various color palettes, combining abstract imagery with text, shapes, and other elements to produce designs that are cohesive and visually pleasing. We take great care when working with imagery, and can incorporate your personal images (photographs, drawings, whatever you like) with our own stock photography. We also work with local photographers to produce custom photographs for your design.
We also do elaborate work with text, to make attractive yet informative pieces, such as newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, or book covers.
The image at the right is one of our newsletter designs. A four page document that folds into a convenient one page size. Again, in this text-laden design, images, color, and text must combine attractively without detracting from one another. The use of font type, weight, and size all play crucial roles, and exemplify our ability to work with text.
Another example of a primarily textual design is this book cover, a runner-up in competition to become the cover for the new edition of Graphic Design Prepress Classroom in a Book, a text written for and by the Graphic Design instructors at Lansing Community College.
The use of imagery is subtle, to place emphasis on the cover title and other textual information, but gives flavor to an otherwise basic textual design. The layout is easy to follow and one piece of information leads to the next in a traditional, yet unique, way.
Imagery is vitally important however, and not to be overlooked. One of the most prevalent places to see this is in our graduation and wedding package designs.
